Promac has been around since Diosdado Macapagal was still the President of the Philippines (talk about history). Ever since then they have providing budget friendly products with uncompromised quality. Now they reemerge with a set of inexpensive earphones that doesn’t look or sound cheap. One of the three earphones on their line is the Promac PRO One (the other two are PRO2 and PRO3) which we’ll discuss later after the jump.
The Promac PRO One’s build and design doesn’t disappoint as it promise a comfortable fit with its oval-shape, angled driver and three pairs of silicon buds that perfectly snugs in your ear canal for better listening experience and lesser ambient noise.
I can’t say anything about the fit of these pair of phones. I don’t find myself adjusting and rearranging the earphone on my ears every now and then unlike with other earphones that I’ve used before. This earphone also features a 1.25m flat cable that is less likely to tangle. Here’s the specs of the Promac PRO One.
Driver Type: Dynamic
Driver Size: 10mm
Sensitivity: 18 – 20,000Hz
Frequency Response: 116±3db at 1KHz
Impedance: 16Ω
In terms of the sound quality, the Promac PRO One will definitely provide your basic aural needs. Though advertised to pay extra attention to bass, the mids and highs were not at all compromised. Cymbals and chimes are sparkly with only a trace of hiss. Guitar and Piano sounds are well reproduced. The vocals (as well as the back-up vocals) are clear but tend to be sibilant at higher volume. On the bass end, though good, is a bit short on thump especially on house and trance tracks. But the overall listening experience of the Promac PRO One, is very satisfactory and something that I rarely get out of a Php499 earphone.
Besides providing an above average sound quality for its price, I personally like the Promac PRO One because of its design and how it perfectly fit my ears. Other earphone’s form factor is either too bulky that it hurts when I lean on it when I’m laying down or too loose that it falls off almost every time when I’m on the move. The comfy fit also ensures that most external noises are blocked and sound leaks are lesser which is good for everyday use.
The only problem that I have with it is that the sound is too soft even when the volume is at its max. But then again, for a Php499 earphone, I can’t ask for more. The Promac PRO One is available in most AstroPlus/AstroVision outlets. As we always advise, test before you buy.
Promac/Union is made here in the PH rest assured. May mga planta sila sa metro manila areas and also bulacan. Let’s support ang sariling atin. They also know how to treat their employees well. Really a great company. Hands on and approachable ang owners.
Everything posted made a great deal of sense. But, wbat about this?
what if you typed a catchier post title? I am not saying your information isn’t solid,
however what if you added something too possibly get folk’s attention? I mean Promac Pro-One: Good
quality, entry level eaephones – YugaTech | Philippines,
Tech News & Reviews iss a little boring. You couild glance at
Yahoo’s frknt pae and see hhow they write article titles to get people to open the
links. You might try adding a video or a related picture or two to grab readers excited about everything’ve written.
Just my opinion, it might make your poosts a little bit
more interesting.
Had the Pro3 before, which basically is the same as Pro1 only with mic. used it for less than a year, the left earphone just died off. I dunno if thats because of the wiring. Its still under warranty and got them replaced with another brand.
I bought it at Astrovision MOA for only 300pesos! (Because it was on sale. I don’t know if it is still on sale). The price is very reasonable and it is very rare to buy earphones with high quality for that price.
Just got mine this afternoon.
Its prettygood. for cheap price. (499) but I bought the Pro3 which have a mic for calls..plus they offer a 1 year warranty on manufacturer defect etc..and it does look like the a-jays. ahahha
the sound quality is good for the price.. nice bass, not too deep though.. you could test it on atroplus. they have adisplay for pro 1-2-3 ahaha.
I’m using poweramp appon my s3 and a music file with 320kbps
Not recommended for workouts and everyday use. Mine only last for 1 week. I put it in my pocket then the left earphone won’t work anymore.
Very poor quality of headphones.
@headfi
yep. These are locally branded but definitely are not locally designed/manufactured(they look like Jays copy).Im just pointing out that these are probably the best IEMs you can get at this price range.
@ungassy
these are no different from those fake china made earphones.. these are not locally made.. and promac didnt invest any R&D for these headphones..
Bought mine at Trinoma Astrovision. All in all, I think they’re great. Best value for the money talaga.
Cons:
– Angled Drivers. It goes inside your ear with a tight seal.Sound isolation is better than most IEM’s.
-Flat durable cables. Better cable than those 500-1000 php Philips and Sony’s. It’s also noticibly more durable than those cheap “bang for the buck earphones” like the AweiESxxx and the KanenKM92 (this two are a tad cheaper though).BTW, 1 year of warranty is provided for this item.
-Great sound. I auditioned this IEM together with the Jays Three.I was shocked when I noticed that they sounded almost the same! It definitely sounds better than most cheap IEMs.
Cons
-No pouch. Ung tips lang ang included.
-Limited availability. Sa Astrovision and kay Sir Egghead lang cya available AFAIK.
-Brand concious pips would probably stay away from this brand.
If you’re looking for cheap earphones with great sound, I suggest you grab a pair of these. The earphones market is flooded with fake beats and unrealible Chinese brands (not including Superlux and SoundMagic, they’re good), I think it would be awesome if we support our own local brand. =)
499pesos for a beats looking earphones, having not tried one, I have doubts about its quality. I’d rather buy an a4tech earphones with good bass and good quality at 300pesos i’ll say that’s fine with me
Im sure that ProMac dont manufacture these poseur hifi earphones. Nor did they spend money for the R&D. And these are just re-branded made in china in-ears. Im not giving my money to this company.
MEI – Maclin Electronics, Inc., owned by Mr. Jose S. Lim, Sr.,
nobody cares troll.. ^_^
nobody cares, troll.. ^_^
@mel – The PRO One doesn’t have a mic but the PRO 3 has.
i might condsider buying this. flat cables for 499? for that price, i will just buy a Fiio E3 to make up for the weak bass.. but as with flat wires, microphonics will be bad..
Promac did send an email about their earphones but I heard nothing from them. I think sending the earphones over Davao for a review might have cost them that much.O_O
uy nice, something for my phone, err wait, it doesn’t have mic capabilities does it?
Flat cable reminds me of monster beats.
Promac as in the same company that makes those awful TVs that break down on a regular basis? Are you serious?
currently my earphones! :)
PRO3 has remote control and mic, sweet! :)
Nice find Ron!
oh i just noticed it looks like a-jays
i will try this one…
How sturdy are they? Do you think they’ll live up to use for long distance running?
